cover - n. In popular music, a cover version, or simply cover, is a new performance or recording of a previously recorded, commercially released song or popular song.
Perhaps it wasn’t clear to some people that Jay Park’s Nothin’ On You EP was a cover, otherwise the sudden expectations of “musical creativity” from this minialbum make no logical sense to me. The song is more or less what B.o.B produced with a slightly modified melody & different lyrics.
There’s a time and place for judging musical quality. You and I both could name many current artists whose quality of music is (so vastly) inversely proportional to number album sales, but I digress. It’s not music school, it’s the music industry. At the end of the day, 50 thousand of Jay’s albums have been released on the market within three days and his record went neck-to-neck against veteran artists’ album sales on the billboard.
Indeed, Jay’s album selling out in three days represents not only the massive buying power of his fanbase, but greater ramifications within the entertainment industry. Could we have even fathomed all this happening back in September, December, or February? No longer a wild card, Jay is making a name for himself and has the numbers to prove it.
Nothin’ On You EP offers merely a taste of what’s to come next. Who knows what to expect? No other artist under the auspices of idol manufacturing companies have ever experienced what Jay has. Jay’s network continues to branch out across the globe as more and more people are touched by his unique story and potential.
This is just a prelude. Let’s wait for the main performance.
In other news, I received my album and posters today. I forgot how it felt to actually hold a CD in my hands, and it made me realize I should really be buying actual CDs of music as a satisfying physical proof that I supported a particular artist and enjoyed their music.

Jaybum, “I missed Korea… I can memorize Korean scripts well.”
At the Hype Nation set, he let us know about his feelings and what he’s been up to.
“I really wanted to come to Korea. I’m practicing the script in English and Korean but I can memorize Korean script better.”
Recently, Yeonhap News met Jaybum (23), a previous member of 2PM twice, first at an office in Kangbook, Seoul and second in a recording studio in Kangnam. He was too skinny as his cheeks were no where to be seen and he had bruises, assuming from bboying, all over his elbows and knees.
This is the first time he had contact with Korean media since he left to US last year. He left for his home in Seattle last September when the words he wrote on his Myspace as a trainee became controversial. Last February, JYPE announced his permanent withdrawal in mentioning his “serious issues in personal life.” He arrived in Korea after nine months to film ‘Hype Nation’, a Korea-America collaboration dance movie, this time standing alone.
When we first met Jaybum, his parents, his younger brother and his bboying team AOM members were with him.
Jaybum, for whom could have been quite awkward and reluctant to meet the Korean press instead gave us a welcoming bow and said “I’m so happy to be in Korea. I really wanted to come.”

#1 Fanaccount from an extra (김또임)
I went to the Hype Nation film set for a part time job. Jaybum was standing right next to me when I was setting up. He seemed really obedient and kind. Yep.
This is the second time I saw a celeb up close- first was Kim JangHoon. It wasn’t that exciting for me but he’s super awesome he does like backhand flip and stuff.
I’m writing again ‘cause the reaction to my previous post was fire. I was eavesdropping to a convo he was having with another guy. In the middle the height topic came up. Jaybum himself said he’s 168cm and 61kg.
And he wandered around by himself at times.
They were filming the scene where Jay’s crew and the black crew were bboying. They filmed it on the opposite end of the set.

Hey this is “shushujaebum”, a halmaemi fan.
I work at the bank (Even though I work at the bank, I couldn’t make a deposit cause I had not read the notice ㅠ - * She’s talking about a deposit for a ticket to the Match One’s Skill 2010)
I have two great stories to tell you~~ KYAA!!
So I taped a picture of Jaebum on my deposit machine ^ㅠ^
A male customer comes up to me suddenly and asks
“You like 2pm?”
“………….No. I like Jaebum?”
“Ohhhh~~~~~~.. Well a few days ago, mm, this company asked us to sponsor a car for their movie…”
(I won’t state the company’s name… in case it creates conflicts)
“WHAT? Is it ‘Hype Nation’?”
“Oh? How do you know the name of the movie?”

I didn’t even get up to see the world cup
but there were already a lot of posts about the airport event.
I’d given up on going cause I had an exam that evening at another campus far from Chunan campus, which would not end until 4PM.
But hey, as I kept reading all night about the airport and jaywalkers’ plans
I really really wanted to go.
so even if the airport was empty by then I planned to go there and get a whiff of his path…
So I made up my mind— to skip the exam ^^
The main influence was Victoria noona. I told her what I decided.
I also posted my decision on dc gallery for Jaywalkers to see.
